Further Information about Horizontal Slats (for Mattress):

Slats (horizontal) for mattress are easily removable if necessary 
Distance between the floor and where mattress slats begin is 1 inch 
Distance between floor and top of slats where mattress is placed is 1.57 inches total (i.e. this is the height upon which the mattress sits)
